Ms. Alka Gyawali

Alka Gyawali is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Engineering Geology at the Central Department of Geology, Tribhuvan University, Nepal. Her research interests span various aspects of applied geoscience, with a primary focus on hydrogeology, groundwater resources, environmental geology, geochemistry, and engineering. She is particularly interested in groundwater occurrence and the geochemical processes that control water chemistry, groundwater recharge and discharge mechanisms, and sustainable management of spring water resources in mountainous environments. She has received specialized training in the fundamentals and applications of environmental isotopes from the National Institute of Hydrology (NIH), Roorkee, India, and completed an internship at Kathmandu Upatyaka Khanepani Limited (KUKL), where she gained practical experience in water quality assessment and analysis. Her academic and practical experiences have strengthened her interest in applying hydrogeological, geochemical, isotopic, and field-based approaches to water resource research.
